Broccoli packaging must withstand moisture, cold storage, pallet stacking and repeated handling during transport. It must also provide suitable airflow for pre-cooling without weakening the box structure.
For growers, packhouses and agricultural exporters, the box dimensions, ventilation, drainage and board specification should therefore be selected according to the actual product and transport route.

This specification is a project reference rather than a universal standard. A different packed weight, pallet arrangement or transport condition may require another GSM, structure or ventilation pattern.
Why Use PP Corrugated Plastic?
PP corrugated plastic board does not absorb water, making it suitable for condensation, humidity and wet handling. Its lightweight fluted structure can be die-cut, folded and printed in custom dimensions.

Ventilation, Drainage and Stacking
Ventilation openings should be designed according to the cooling method, airflow direction and pallet pattern. Drainage holes can also be added where condensation or process water needs to leave the box.
However, adding too many openings may reduce the effective load-bearing area. Ventilation, drainage and stacking strength must therefore be considered together.
For the reference box, 3 mm board at 800 GSM was selected for a net broccoli weight of 9 kg. Sample and load testing under the customer’s actual storage and transport conditions are recommended before volume production.

Custom Printing and Food-Contact Testing
Broccoli boxes can be printed with a farm logo, produce variety, grade, origin, handling instructions, barcode or QR code.
The reference design uses Pantone P325 and supports 3–5-color printing. The PP material has passed SGS food-contact testing, and supporting documentation can be provided for project review.
